South Hills Village is a two-story covered mall for shopping, sitting in the Pittsburgh suburbs Bethel Park and Upper St. Clair Township, in Pennsylvania. It offers many stores and food courts, so it is a very popular place in the region. The center anchors Macy’s, Von Maur, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Barnes & Noble.

An interesting feature of that mall is that it was built on hilly terrain. The store of Von Maur sits truly on a slope, and the whole design follows the natural form of the ground. Because of that it has a bit different structure then the usual flat centers.

Inside there are many special stores. The shopping focuses most on women’s clothing and accessories, on electronic devices, on family friendly fashions and on sporting products. You also find food courts for fast food, with enough eating options spread around.

The mall has already been open for some years. Old photos from earlier times show how it looked in its early days. It is often compared with the Monroeville Mall, which is seen as a kind of brother center.

Both belong to the long history of shopping in Pittsburgh.

South Hills Village offers a relaxing experience of covered shopping. It does not rank among the biggest centers in the world, but the variety is enough to please most customers for a good time. The mix of big anchor stores and little specialties ensures a wide range.

Some parts of the center no longer look as nice as before, which is typical for older malls. Even so, the main anchor stores operate well, and the whole trip stays comfortable for families as well as for independent shoppers.
