How To Use The Mall at Greece Ridge Directory Map
This will probably make finding what you want a lot easier. For a store specific search, use the search box at the top left of the map to type in the store name and get it fast.
Otherwise you can look through categories of stores and see what you like. Move your mouse over the map and scroll in to see more of the layout.
Zoom in/zoom out or enter full screen using the buttons at the bottom right as well. It has only one floors. Any store pin you click shows more info about that shop.
Once you get used to it, it becomes pretty straight forward. Macy’s is the anchor store and Boscov’s just opened a major anchor. That last year Boscov’s had a record grand opening celebration. Boscov’s occupied what was an empty department store space and kept that part of the mall from going dark.
Pretty neat spot. It turns out the Mall at Greece Ridge was once two malls. Greece Towne Mall opened first followed by Long Ridge Mall. It turns out that when they merged into one big shopping center the original anchor stores in each mall got multiple locations.
That explains the two Macy’s storefronts here. Greece Towne Mall had some neat features when it opened. Long Ridge Mall had its own attractions like the Electric Ball Circus art sculpture. In the Electric Ball Circus colored balls dropped into baskets, struck drums and wound up ramps and spirals. That was neat stuff. That sculpture is at ArtisanWorks in Rochester.
That mall sure has changed over the years. There have been stores that come and go. There was a Woolworth’s where Dick’s Sporting Goods is now. Other spaces are filled and emptied and filled again. That’s kind of the nature of malls.
The movie theater at the mall replaced an old store that closed and that theater has been there awhile now. Greece Ridge has less competition than the nearby malls. Greece Ridge is holding despite a worse performance of Marketplace Mall in Henrietta.
I figured that having what some call restaurant alley in there brought people in not just to shop. It is a pretty average size mall. Not so big that you feel overwhelmed walking around but big enough that there are stores.
It has bigger stores as well as smaller boutiques. They sometimes have home shows with repair and remodeling companies exhibiting their stuff. That gives it some variety beyond your typical shopping.
People who walk through Greece Ridge come by it for exercise. That number is higher than at some of the area malls. The Marketplace Mall, for example, is smaller so you finish all the shops faster.
There is more room to walk around at Greece Ridge. Some issues at the mall have happened over the years. Wild teens showing up on Friday and Saturday nights sometimes caused trouble. That was handled by security at the mall, Greece Police and local courts stepping up their game. A curfew is in effect at the mall. It’s nothing new essentially.
The mall has long been a place for teens to goof around. The mall has extra security and police around the holidays.
Parking is tough & checkout lines are long at peak times. Most malls are as crowded during the holidays. Some recent construction has gone on at the mall. The old Bed Bath and Beyond is getting renovated too. Sometimes it isn’t clear what is going in there. Outside entrances also have been updated.
This is a mall that gets updated when new stores come in and old ones go. There is a movie theater in the mall that they call Apple Cinemas. It’s completely self-service.
They give you a popcorn bucket & soda cup and you fill them up with buttons easily. A little different from how movie theaters used to work, but it does the job. It has a longtime restaurant in the mall that serves Rochester.
Its trademarks are good food and good service in a casual setting. Dining is right at the mall so stay longer without eating out. If you need to pick up a few things and not tour town, the mall is a good place to go.
It has enough stores to walk around but not so big you could spend the day there. Daily stuff (the mall got it).
This directory map is correct as of right now but stores change occasionally so it will be updated. Bookmark this page to check the directory next time you visit.
