Build-A-Bear Eastview Mall

Located in Eastview Mall is the Build-A-Bear Workshop which allow the children to create and customize there own stuffed animal. The processes of creating a stuffed animal are what distinguishes Build-A-Bear from other toy stores. Kids must perform the steps necessary to create the stuffed animal.

First, they choose a shell for their stuffed animal. The available stuffed animals includes bears, bunnies, dogs, cats, and other available character. Once they have chosen their animal, they must use a foot pedal to fill their animal with stuffed filling at a designated area in the shop.

Make Your Own Stuffed Animal at Build-A-Bear

Before the kids close the stuffed animal, they can add on an fabric heart to their animal. To perform this step, the associate instructs the kids to make a wish by the stuffed animal station. This little ceremony is one that typically remains remembered by the children after there visit to the store.

After the animal is stuffed, they must go to a grooming station to groom there stuffed animal. Following grooming, the stuffed animal is dressed in clothing that is available in different size for the stuffed animals. Clothing includes apparel for sports teams, holidays, movies, and different fashion style.

Other items for the stuffed animal to wear include shoes, glasses, hats, bags, and more. After dressing their animal, the child registers the stuffed animal and presents it with a birth certificate that list the name that the child has chosen for there stuffed animal. Finally, the store places the stuffed animal into its signature house shaped box, which acts as a “home” for the stuffed animal.

Andys Candies is located in the mall in the same stretch of shops as the Build-A-Bear Workshop. The store itself caters to customer of all ages. While most of the visitors to the store are children, their parents and grandparents also visit.

Additionally, some of the adult who visit the store are those who grew up with Build-A-Bear and return to purchase limited editions of stuffed animals that reference other toys or media that they were familiar with when they were young. There are seasonal item that are offered at the store that reference holidays like Halloween, Christmas, and Valentines Day. These limited items are some of the reason that customers return to Build-A-Bear each season.

Sound Chips are available for purchase at the store and are placed into the stuffed animal before they are closed. These chips allow the stuffed animal to play a sound when squeezed. These items are of interest to many of the children who visit the store.

Aerie is located in the same area of the mall as Build-A-Bear. While the location draws customers of a different age-group then Build-A-Bear, the proximity between the two shops allow for a great amount of foot traffic through the area during both the week and the weekends. Build-A-Bear’s location also benefits from the high volume of people that visit Eastview Mall on weekends and holidays.

Gift cards for the store are available for purchase at the store. The gift cards can be used at any Build-A-Bear store. Build-A-Bear offers a variety of stuffed animals of different type, size, and color.

While there are permanent residents of the store and stuffed animals that are always on the sales floor, others are only present for specific period of time. Sound Chips, clothing items, accessories, and stuffed animal shells are all available for purchase and are displayed next to one another in the store for customers to observe the different available option for customizing there stuffed animal creation.
